Precautions After Filler (Without Retouch Session)

Please review the following information to help ensure the filler settles properly and creates natural-looking volume.

I. Aftercare Guidelines

  • Please do not rub or apply excessive pressure to the treated area.
  • From immediately after the procedure through the first 3 days, use cold compresses as needed.
  • Please make sure to take all prescribed medication as directed.
  • Of the 7 days of prescribed medication, please take the first 4 days’ worth first, then take the remaining 3 days’ worth after your touch-up.
  • For 1 to 2 weeks, please avoid half-baths, bathing, saunas, and steam rooms.
  • After nose filler treatment, please avoid wearing glasses or sunglasses for 1 week.
  • After lip filler treatment, please avoid licking your lips with your tongue or exposing them to strong external irritation.

II.  Results and Progress

  • Swelling may occur immediately after the procedure, and the shape may appear different as the swelling goes down.
  • As the filler settles into place, the skin surface may temporarily look uneven, but this usually smooths out naturally.
  • A touch-up can be done within 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure.

III. Rare but Possible Reactions

  • Even when medication is taken as directed, inflammation may occur in about 1 out of 1,000 patients.
  • If pain gradually worsens, the skin changes to a pale or red color, or small bump-like eruptions appear, prompt evaluation is necessary.
  • In rare cases, acute allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) may occur in about 1 out of 10,000 patients.

IV. When to Consult Your Medical Provider

  • If pain becomes worse than it was the previous day
  • If skin color changes occur, such as paleness or redness, or if inflammation is suspected
  • If signs of an acute allergic reaction appear, such as widespread hives or difficulty breathing
  • If you experience any of the above symptoms, please contact our clinic and visit for an evaluation.
