Precautions After Collagen Tightening Injections

Please review the following information to help support stable tissue regeneration and collagen formation.

I. Aftercare Guidelines

  • Please avoid rubbing, pressing, or otherwise irritating the treated area, and minimize stimulation as much as possible.
  • From immediately after the procedure through the first 3 days, use cold compresses as needed.
  • Please make sure to take all prescribed medication as directed.
  • For 1 to 2 weeks, please avoid half-baths, bathing, saunas, and steam rooms.
  • As the treated area settles, the skin surface may temporarily feel uneven or firm, but this usually stabilizes within 1 to 2 weeks.

II. Results and Progress

  • This treatment improves skin elasticity and contour gradually over time through collagen production, rather than creating an immediate volume change.
  • It may take up to 4 weeks for results to develop, and a second session is generally recommended no sooner than 1 month later.
  • Recovery and results may vary depending on your skin condition, tissue response, and lifestyle habits.

III. Rare but Possible Reactions

  • Even when medication is taken as directed, inflammation may occur in about 1 out of 1,000 patients.
  • If pain gradually worsens, the skin changes to a pale or red color, or small bump-like eruptions appear, prompt evaluation is necessary.
  • In rare cases, acute allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) may occur in about 1 out of 10,000 patients.

IV. When to Consult Your Medical Provider

  • If pain becomes worse than it was the previous day
  • If skin color changes occur, such as paleness or redness, or if inflammation is suspected
  • If signs of an acute allergic reaction appear, such as widespread hives or difficulty breathing
  • If you experience any of the above symptoms, please contact our clinic and visit for an evaluation.
