Precautions After Botox for wrinkles

Please review the following guidelines carefully to help ensure the best possible results.

I. Aftercare Guidelines

  • Please avoid pressing or rubbing the treated area.
  • For 1–2 weeks, please avoid half-baths, bathing, saunas, steam rooms, strenuous exercise, massages, alcohol, and smoking.
  • To allow the product to settle properly, please avoid massage, meridian therapy, or any strong pressure or stimulation on the treated area for 2 weeks.

II. Changes That May Occur During Recovery

  • Temporary bruising, swelling, itching, or pain may occur in the treated area, but these symptoms usually improve naturally.
  • You may feel some awkwardness when making facial expressions after the procedure, but this is a temporary effect caused by reduced muscle movement and generally becomes more natural over time.
  • In rare cases, inflammation or an allergic reaction may occur, but most cases improve with proper treatment.
  • If excessive additional treatment is performed after the effects have already fully developed, you may experience heaviness around the eyes, difficulty opening the eyes, or an unnatural facial expression.
  • To date, no permanent side effects from Botox treatment have been reported. Most reactions are temporary and part of the normal recovery process.

III. Results and Progress

  • Botox is a treatment that temporarily relaxes muscle movement to help improve wrinkles and refine facial expressions.
  • For wrinkle Botox, results generally begin to appear around 1 week after treatment, and progress can usually be evaluated within 2 weeks.
  • In the case of deep, pronounced wrinkles, Botox alone may not provide sufficient improvement, and additional treatments such as thread lifting or fillers may be recommended if needed.
  • If your usual muscle use is asymmetrical, one treatment session may not be enough for complete correction, and adjustments can be made through a touch-up visit within 2–3 weeks after treatment.
  • Results and response may vary depending on each individual’s muscle condition.

IV. When to Consult Your Medical Provider

  • If pain or swelling persists abnormally
  • If inflammation or an allergic reaction is suspected
  • If you experience any of the above symptoms, please contact our clinic and visit for an evaluation.
